AMD's second generation 55nm mid- and higher-end chips, the RV770 are apparently looking really good and ready to make an appearance before the end of this quarter, at least paired up with GDDR3 memory. Set to arrive first, the RV770 PRO cards with GDDR3 memory will be soon followed by RV770XT products with GDDR5 memory which are now rumored as being sampled.

With AMD's partners getting RV770XT samples now, the cards will probably be released earlier than expected, maybe as soon as one month after the first Radeon HD 4800 cards are introduced. It's going to be a cruel summer.
